Assured, the AI-native platform for healthcare provider operations, today announced $19M in Series A funding led by Insight Partners, with continued participation from First Round Capital and Kindred Ventures.
We started Assured because we lived this problem ourselves. At our first company, a telehealth startup, getting a healthcare provider credentialed and in-network could take 60 days or more. The process was manual and time-consuming: spreadsheets, PDFs, fax machines, primary source verifications tracked by hand across a dozen disconnected systems.
Every day stuck in that pipeline became a day of delayed care and lost revenue.
Assured now serves more than 100 healthcare organizations - from health systems like Houston Methodist to fast-scaling companies like Tono Health, Blossom Health, and Birches Health— helping credential providers and get in-network faster than ever.
"Across healthcare, provider credentialing and enrollment remain some of the most painful and expensive parts of scaling," said Teddie Wardi, Managing Director at Insight Partners. "Assured is the first platform we have seen that performs the work itself, not just tracks it. That shift is why we led this round."
What We Built
Today’s credentialing and payer enrollment platforms only track the work. We built Assured to actually perform it, empowering overburdened provider operations teams nationally. Our AI agents operate inside the process itself, verifying provider data against more than 2,000 primary sources, preparing applications tailored to each state's or payer’s requirements, and flagging gaps before they become delays.
The result: providers credentialed within days, in-network 30 percent faster, and operations teams freed up by dozens of hours each week.
We're also an NCQA-certified Credentials Verification Organization (CVO) so we can perform credentialing verifications directly: health systems and health plans don’t need a separate layer.
Tono Health, a virtual-first dermatology practice, came to Assured after delays with a legacy vendor had stalled its payer enrollment and limited its ability to expand. Assured processed over 100 applications at once, and Tono now operates in 32 states.
"We went from not having any contracts to getting contracts done within one month," said Bryson Tombridge, CEO and Co-founder of Tono Health. "It completely catalyzed our business and gave us hope that our business model was actually scalable."
What’s Next?
We've seen what changes when AI agents drive credentialing and payer enrollment. Providers onboard faster, organizations scale faster, and care gets delivered sooner. But those workflows are just where we started. We're taking the same approach to the rest of the healthcare provider back office, starting with privileging. This funding supports that expansion, and we’re growing the team across engineering, product, and go-to-market.
If you want to help build the AI-native layer for provider operations, check out our open roles.
And if you're a healthcare organization still running credentialing or payer enrollment by hand, we'd love to show you a different way. Book a time with us here.
